Skurup Municipality's water and wastewater operations include drinking water production, while wastewater treatment is carried out in collaboration with the neighboring municipalities of Ystad and Trelleborg. The municipality is a co-owner of Sydvatten AB and receives part of its drinking water supply through regional cooperation. The municipality manages distribution facilities on its own. Operation of the pipe network is mainly handled by a service contractor.

About the Position

Responsibilities

We are looking for a person interested in developing and improving the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. You will be part of a small team with close collaboration. We help each other in a cross-functional way and leverage each other's specialist knowledge in a flat organizational structure.

The work will mainly involve ongoing work with our pipe network. Duties will include:

• Ongoing supervision, operation, and maintenance of the pipe network
• Management, repairs, and maintenance of pipes in collaboration with contractors
• Replacement of water meters
• Documentation of facilities
• Supervision (SCADA system)
• Participation in investigations and tenders
• Contact with subscribers

On-call duty is included in the employment. During on-call periods, the role involves fixing faults on the pipe network, facilities, and other urgent issues at the municipality's facilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is calm, reliable, and structured. You work carefully, have a strong focus on quality, and take responsibility for your tasks from start to finish. You plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work independently.

You thrive both working independently and together with others. As a person, you are relationship-building, communicative, and team-oriented. You have a good ability to take initiative and actively contribute to improving methods, routines, and quality in the operations.

You see the value of documenting and quality-assuring your work and ensure that tasks are performed in accordance with current laws, regulations, and requirements.

We prefer that you have technical education with a focus on the water and wastewater sector, or other practical experience considered equivalent, such as a pipefitter for underground pipes. You have knowledge of pipe materials, pumps, valves, meters, as well as pump technology, control, and regulation. It is a plus if you have education in drinking water and drinking water hygiene, preferably one of Svenskt Vatten's diploma courses in drinking water technology.

The position includes on-call duty, which means you need to be able to arrive within 30 minutes. Therefore, we prefer that you live in or near the municipality. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, good computer skills, and hold a Category B driver's license.

Skurup's water and wastewater organization is small, which requires you to be self-reliant, flexible, and responsible. You have a positive attitude towards new tasks and are accustomed to taking initiative when needs arise.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment Terms

• Salary: Monthly salary.
• Employment Type: Permanent position.
• Working Hours: Daytime. Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:30. On-call duty is included in the position.
